Merry Christless to all!
Have you missed me? Please know that I have been waiting with the patience of a predatory feline to pounce upon this blog's readers once again. Before I go on my customary cyclical rant about what all the gang and myself have been doing with Ethereal Blood for the past month let me say that I am grateful to whoever may be out there that reads these monthly ravings. This blog has become very dear to me. It is truly therapeutic and Satan knows if anybody could use therapy it is most assuredly me! (Cue insane Vincent Price style laughter)
As usual November was a busy month but we expect things to slow down a little bit this month due in part to the holiday season. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to book shows for a band of our particular imagery right around Jesus's birthday. Hahaha!
So over the course of this last month we have begun to take the first larger steps to composing some new material. Drum tracks are being produced for a new song that we want to eventually work into our live set list and include on our next commercial release Cold Crypt Sonatas Vol. II. The working title of the piece right now is "March On, Wallachian Night Breed" and it is shaping up to be quite the orgy of different styles and tastes and I estimate it will be our most complex song to date. It features an abnormal amount of tempo and time signature changes even for us. It is this element that I feel lends the atmosphere of the song a mildly progressive flavour which I never predicted us possessing. It's another extra lengthy opus in the vein of "Transylvanian Concubine" or "One Leaden Kiss" which will feature some input from a pair of guest musicians whose identity I will not yet divulge since it is unclear how this new working relationship will evolve. No matter the case, a new masterpiece is in the fetal stages of growth right now and once matured will have the same maniacal orchestrative qualities we (and hopefully you) have come to love.
We had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some very talented heavy metal bands this month and although none of them are exactly up our alley it was great to make some new friends and as always, communicate with musicians as passionate as ourselves. Anybody who has an ear for some underground metal music should take a minute to appreciate;

Moving foward I want to remind everybody that our debut Cold Crypt Sonatas Vol. I is available in iTunes and from our web store "The Sepulchre" and will be downloadable via Amazon, Google Play, and Spotify by the end of the month. Keep you're eyes open for links until then!
If there was one bad thing about the month of November it was that we had to cancel a photo shoot that I was really excited about due to conflicting schedules. Not wanting to waste an opportunity to tread on unhallowed ground my aspiring model of a mistress and I decided to journey to the photo location with our dear friend, photographer Kassandra King. Despite the fact that the entirety of Ethereal Blood could not accompany us I had a lovely time sauntering around the abandoned and derelict Manteno State Hospital, an old mental asylum that by all accounts is riddled with phantoms. Unfortunately my best attempts to flatter these specters into communication failed but it was a mildly chilling coincidence that none of Kassandra's professional photography equipment seemed to properly function in the darkest corridors. I'll make sure to post some pictures from this endeavor in next month's blog or as soon as the aforementioned material crosses my desk.
One final thought, the 15th of this month is my birthday! If any of you miserly bastards decide you have the generosity to give me a gift give me the gift of you're continued support. Listen to the music and come to our shows and revel with us. We're all just one big happy coven...
Back to the shadows for now,
