The time has come to brush the gossamer from ourselves and rise anew!
Ave blood-fiends! It has certainly been quite awhile since I've had the motivation to rouse myself from my fetid slumber and fill you in on the happenings in the realm of Ethereal Blood. Let me attempt to bring everyone up to speed...
I'm sure it seems to everyone that we've been rather dormant since our former lead guitarist Thanatos departed the group in early spring for personal reasons but rest assured that the reality of the scenario is quite to the contrary. We have been busying ourselves the way that we always have with writing and recording music, acquiring equipment and stage decorum, and walking to and fro on the Earth searching for fellow cadaverous cunts to join our merry band of blasphemous bastards. Our attempts have not been entirely unsuccessful in any of the aforementioned departments.
The upcoming album Cold Crypt Sonatas Vol. II is really starting to metastasize into something coherent and glorious. It is for all intents and purposes nearing the end of the writing and pre-production stages and I for one couldn't be more elated and apprehensive. In my opinion the track listing for the next album will certainly surpass it's 2014 predecessor Cold Crypt Sonatas Vol. I in both form and execution. It is more ornate and elaborate than our previous work having songs that are eclectic and progressive, dark and aggressive, and melodious and melancholic. Despite the fact that we have attempted to expound things I have every confidence that this album will amiably sit by it's elder as the optimal companion piece. Our ambition to out do ourselves will not affect the familiar ambiance and motifs that we have come to identify with. I would advise that everybody direct their attention to our Instagram where you can find some short bits of new songs lurking in the shadows in the incarnation of Flipagram video clips...

I hope that they will be enough to appease your curiosity for a little while and attest to the statements I have made regarding the fidelity of the material. Unfortunately, I can not even begin to estimate an arrival for the finished product due mostly to the fact that we have dedicated ourselves to unrelenting rehearsals for an upcoming performance.
Yes, you read that correctly. We will be returning to the stage at the end of August with our new lead guitarist Shtrigo. Shortly after Thanatos severed himself from Ethereal Blood the Chicago native Steven Bacerott (Alias Shtrigo) sought us out about his position and has steadily worked with us towards learning our current set-list, imparting his creativity into new works, and ensconcing himself as a full-time member of The Sanguinary Symphony. Long may he remain! Also, without divulging any critical information, suffice it to say that before long we may be able to abandon the drum machine at our rituals in favor of a flesh and blood percussionist. August 29th will witness us ravaging the stage of "The Tin Roof" in Leland Illinois. a few among you may remember us performing there for a Halloween bash last year. You can find many details about this event in the "Ceremonies and Rituals" tab of our webpage or on Facebook...

We will be sharing the night with some new and highly talented friends such as "Children of Dismay", "Khaos Ordinance", and our old pals in "A Vicious Cycle". Please take a moment to let your ears be accosted by the various bands at the links of their choosing...

We are doing everything in our power to book more dates and fill up our hectic schedules with the singular goal of entertaining you. Additionally, we will be holding a raffle that will draw near the end of the night in question and give you the unique opportunity to obtain various merchandise and apparel from all of the acts present. More details about how to enter will follow as they develop. Stay connected via the Facebook event page.
There are two final items that I'd like to draw to your attention before I slink back into the darkness from whence I came. Firstly, we are honored to announce that at the beginning of the month we had the distinct pleasure of working with the illustrious "Lord of Logos" Christophe Szpajdel for the second time in our career. Those of you who have paid attention to the murky origins and clandestine genesis of Ethereal Blood will notice that this is the same artistic genius who developed our official logo as well as some insignia of note for Emperor, Old Man's Child, Trivium, and Abigail Williams. Take a moment to appreciate his mastery here...

We commissioned him to create for us a secondary alternative emblem that would adhere to the credos that we follow and present us in a grandiose manner that we adore. He took my original design sketches and recreated them in his own signature style. The resulting image is very medieval and majestic. It could not have pleased us more. This image is featured on the front of some limited edition T-shirts which are now gracing our web-store "The Sepulchre" you are free to order your own at any time but please note that we will not begin shipping orders for these for another two weeks.
